The result of that particular HDR processing were disappointing (in part why I tried HDR Pro). HDR Express handled pretty much everything I threw at it, with the exception of the first shot above. Same shot with a B&W treatment (one of many available). And it has the option of creating an HDR image from a single photo (typically HDR merges multiple photos with bracketed exposures). HDR Express is a very simple program to use, and it comes with a lot of adjustments as well as a number of presets.

One thing HDR Pro did well was to handle the edges in high contrast places it has very little ghosting and fringing at the edges. I plan to try a -2.0, -1.0, 0, +1.0, +2.0 (five shots) and see how it does, and possibly play with wider ranges and more shots.

My guess is it would do better with more exposures. I mean, it did a good job, and I could have tweaked it to improve it, but I did not have the time. I only processed three photographs in Photoshop HDR Pro because it did not handle some of the others all that well.

Many of these shots are stunningly different when viewed full size, or even enlarged. Trestle Underside Crop – Photoshop HDR Pro – Three Exposures, bracketed +/- 1.0 EV Not many will go and see these shots in their native resolution, so here is a crop from the above picture. Trestle Underside – Photoshop HDR Pro – Three Exposures, bracketed +/- 1.0 EV It did excellent for the above shot, and for these two as well. I like how this tool worked, but it did better with some type of pictures than others. (You can watch a YouTube Video on HDR Pro HERE) Trestle – Photoshop HDR Pro – Three Exposures, bracketed +/- 1.0 EV One of them is called Photorealistic, and the shot below is the result from it. Called HDR Pro, it has a number of presets. Photoshop has an HDR tool integrated in it.

The results can often be stunning (check the internet – millions of HDR images out there), although some people don’t like them at all. HDR stands for High Dynamic Range, and it refers to the practice of extending the standard dynamic range of a photo by merging a sequence of shots ranging from well over-exposed to well under-exposed.

Those who read the Train and Trestle post will recognize these shots, and remember I had taken a number of bracketed photographs to test out HDR tools. So, if anyone can’t find that support email let me know through PM and I’ll hook ya up.Photography, Fiction, Travel, and Opinions. (this has happened before on other sites, not sure why) I was worried there at first because the automated support system, for some reason, never did contact my email and thought it just asn't goping to work for me. (You can notice from my snipit there is only a link to the web support system on that app, NOT to an actual person)īUT this morning after poking around for awhile I finally found a support email address on the UC site and sent out an email explaining my problem and tonight a fine gent named Al hit me back and said he was resetting my keys!!

I did get it solved tonight, but let me tell you what happened in case anyone else needs to do this.Īt first I went to the site and checked my account (if you register HDR make an account at “Unified Color”) and made sure my serial was registered, and it was, then I tried to contact the UC (HDR) support, and even though it said the automated support ticket went through I never got an automated email response like it said I would, and that’s when I came here. PS: you never used HDR E? man that program is a hoot!!Īnd thank you d_Dewey for your reply and lead on Rox-Ralf, I’ll look into contacting him if anything like this happens again. You know I should have remembered about the forums from the last time I was here, I downloaded FF tonight and it is a much better option for these forums.
